Happy New Year!
With every new year, comes New Years resolutions that are never kept. Yes, I'm guilty. I've made plenty of resolutions and they never seem to last a week. I know, how pathetic is that. Well, 2008 is going to be different. I've made some resolutions...actually, let's not call them resolutions, let's call them goals. Goals sound so much better, don't they.
This is the year that I am going to work on no longer being a procrastinator - 2008 No more procrastinate! Sounds good, huh?
Here's my list of Goals for 2008.
~Become Christ-like in all that I do - this is number one on my list. I have stumbled in my Christian life and need to get back on track. I can work on everything below, but none of it matters if my relationship with Christ is not right. I need to put him first and foremost in all that I do, because..
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13.
So with Christ, I can accomplish all the rest of my goals below.
~Be a Virtuous Woman - Proverbs 31: 10-31
10Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
13She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
16She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
17She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
18She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
19She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
20She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
21She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
22She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
23Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
24She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
25Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
26She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
27She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
28Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
31Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
King James Version (KJV)
~Be a better Wife - God has blessed me with a great God-fearing husband. I need to love him more, support him more, appreciate him more and be his Helpmate like God intended.
~Be a better Mom - I admit, I would not win any "Great Mommy" awards. I am not very patient. That should be a requirement when having kids. I need to work on less yelling and more patience. I also need to read more to the boys. I love to read and that is something I should have instilled in all my boys. I feel it's too late with my older two, but not too late for Ezekiel and Elijah. I also need to talk more with Samuel and Manuel. Even though they are living with their Dad, I need to try and talk to them everyday, something I currently do not do.
~Lose 30 lbs and get in shape - I know this is such a cliche...everyone seems to have this goal, but I really need to do this. I've always been slim, but I can say that no longer. I am currently weighting 172. Yes, I posted my weight, so what! I couldn't believe when I went to the Dr and stepped on that scale. Personally, I think the scale was wrong, and some of the other's I've weighted myself on, but that's besides the point. I know I've put on some weight, my pants are telling me that when I have to suck in my gut and jump up and down to put them on. Not a pretty picture.

~Take some classes to further my career
These are the major goals I have for 2008. I have some other little things I need to work on, like keeping the house clean, keeping up with the laundry, less eating out, learn to enjoy cooking, you know...the everyday mundane, that need not be listed.
