Jay and Vicki's Big Night

Jay and Vicki have been together for a few years now and decided it was time to quit living in sin and tie the knot....so off to the JP we go. Fonzy and I were the witnesses and I was also the photographer. Yay me.....my first wedding. Down to the court house we go.

Since the wedding was a spur of the moment thing, there wasn't time for flowers, and all the frills you normally associate with weddings, but who needs all that when you have love, right? That's all you need.

What we did have, was a beautiful skylight, a gorgeous night out, and a balcony view.

I take that back, there was flowers. One of Vicki's co-workers made her and Jay corsage. The look on Jay's face says it all. "Vicki....you better not stick me"

Vicky and Jay went in to sign forms and Fonzy thought they were going to perform the ceremony through the glass....luckily that was not the case.

In the elevator on the way to perform the ceremony. Don't they all look deep in thought? I wonder what they all are thinking.

Hmmmmmm......

The I Do's

The Happy Couple

"I's Married Now!
"***- Jay is the one saying this, since I'm not sure Vicki would know where that came from.

Gorgeous night downtown.

On our way to Olive Garden where I should NOT be going since I am on South Beach and can't have any pasta or bread. What is the point of going to Olive Garden is you can't have pasta and bread, but Jay and Vicki wanted to go there to celebrate, so of course I had to go.

Notice where the bread is.....right in front of me! I was weak, I had one.

R.I.P.

halfday 026

This was the plaque the boys were reading in the picture above.

A baby that died 4 days after he was born.

Statue of prophets - Ezekiel was one of them. So of course we had to take a picture.

Day 3 of South Beach

OK.....day 3 of South Beach and I'm struggling just a little bit. I would kill for 2 eggs over easy, hash browns, sausage, and some biscuits with honey and butter. Or pizza, a sausage biscuit from Biscuitville, french fries. Shoot, how about just sugar in my coffee! I have to keep focused. I have got to lose this weight. I actually feel better since being on the diet. I don't feel so sluggish. If I could just keep food off my mind.

Today my exercise is walking/jogging. Monday, Wednesday and Friday I do my work out tapes. Tuesday and Thursday is walking/jogging day. I may add more walking/jogging days, just depends on how I like it.
I can do this! I can do this! I can do this...........

Here is some motivation for me. With hard work, I too can look like this. Yes, I can! Stop thinking in your head's that I can't! I can and I will!

49 of 365 - Wind Chimes

2 weeks ago, the boys and I had a half day at school/work, so we headed to the cemetery. Yep, you read that right, a cemetery. My SIL said I was really weird for taking the boys to the cemetery when we didn't even know anyone, but I don't think so. Cemetery's are very peaceful and beautiful places. One of the main reasons I wanted to go was to take pictures of the Jesus statue up on the hill. The boys didn't mind going to the cemetery, it was an adventure for them. They walked through the cemetery, reading the headstones and sometimes asking questions on how the person may have died. We saw a baby's headstone, he was only 4 days old. The boys had a tough time understanding how a baby could day at only 4 days old. I just told them that people of all ages die, babies, kids, moms, dads. You never know when it's your time, only God knows that.

While walking through the cemetery, I kept hearing chimes. All over there were wind chimes hung in tress. It seemed kind of strange, but it was a hauntingly beautiful sound that I won't soon forget.....

We do not stop playing because we grow old.

If at first you don't succeed...

...try, try again!

OK, so I've been talking about losing weight for a while, with no success. I guess the problem is I've been talking and not doing, so I'm really doing now. Summer is right around the corner and I will not be fat this summer. I'm back on the South Beach diet. The last time I got to Day 2 or 3 and fell off the wagon. The first two weeks of South Beach is HARD! You cut out all pasta, bread, potatoes and sugars. Do you know how hard that is??? Take it from me, it's hard. But I'm better prepared this go round. Karen, Vicki and I are all on the diet so I have someone to keep me motivated. Karen and I also got books, recipes and went grocery shopping this weekend for what we need. Since we work together, we are able to keep each other on the diet during the day, then all we have is dinner on our own. I'm on day 2 and feeling good about the whole thing. I did good yesterday, I had a veggie omelet for breakfast, snacks was Laughing Cow cheese (which is very good by the way) with celery, and dinner was baked chicken breast with cabbage and water to drink all day. Surprisingly, I was not hungry during the day and the recipes were very good. I think I'm going to twitter my day on South beach. I think it will help me stay on it. I may need some cheering...."Go Mami Dearest! Go! You can do it" Especially since Fonzy and I have a bet for $100. He said he could lose double what I lose in a month. He's on! I don't think he can do it. I'm just determined to get back into size 9/10. I'm squeezing into 12's right now....squeezing being the operative word. I'll be exercising daily, so that should help too. I will fit into my 9/10's by this summer! There is no doubt about it.
