WIP Wednesday - For the boys

wolvesmohawk

I'm a mom to boys - 4 to be exact. And being a Mom to boys and the only female in the house means I'm surrounded by sports!

My husband and 2 younger boys play football, softball and basketball. So I spend ALOT of time at practices and games for all 3 of them. I'm the football, basketball, baseball, cheerleading mom. Not just a soccer mom here! Knitting keeps me sane and I take it with me to practices and games.

My WIP this week is a mohawk hat for my husband in the school colors where he teaches/coaches. Right now he is in the midst of basketball season, he's the head coach. The picture behind my WIP is the first year he coached. I made a photo book from the gazillion pictures I took. The front cover is of them praying in the locker room before the game.

So far the hat looks great! Hubby wants W's on the side of the hat for his team - Wendell Wolves. I tried to duplicate stitch it, (my first time) and it wasn't so great. So I will probably use felt W's. I hope it looks ok. I guess we shall see on FO Friday!

I'm the only girl out of 4. My Mom is now the only female in her house. I have a girl and a boy. Twice a week it's ballet practice and once a week it's cub scouts. The mohawk hat sounds cool. Look forward to seeing its FO.

Great gift idea, pretty colour/knitting, and (again) a completely amazing photo.

Knitted mohawk hats = consequence of living in a house full of men. Also, awesome! Can't wait to see how it turns out!!

I really like the blue yarn you've used. And I really, *really* like the stitch marker you have! I may have to let Santa's elf know I'd like some pretty sm like that for my stocking!

Thanks for visiting the World of Wiedz, I did find the yarn and all I have left is the kitchner stitch to finish!!!!

Knitted Mohawk hat! sounds fascinating.. and, if you make one for your husband, am sure your sons will ask one for themselves too. so, be prepared to knit 4 more knitted mohawk hats! ;-)

Love that idea! I love coming up with projects that will work for the boys in my house but are still fun for me to do! :-)

I'm a new follower of your blog. I love the idea about you knitting a hat for your husband with the school's colors.
