FO Friday and Creative Friday

Happy Friday Crafty Peeps!

I almost forgot I had 2 projects to share today! Go me!

I finally knitted up a whale for my grandson, Jonah. You can't be named Jonah and not have a whale, right. I put his fins on wrong, They were suppose to be sideways, but I'm sure Jonah won't mind or even notice.

My second project is my Hello Kitty hat I made for a friend's daughter. Of course I had to try it on and model it. I wasn't too sure about the whiskers, but I guess they look alright. I hope my friends daughter likes it. I have requests for a few more Hello Kitty hats. Luckily it only took me 2 days to make.

That's it for me! I'm ready for this long holiday weekend in the States. I have girlfriends visiting from TX and I'm too excited! Can't wait for them to get here later today!

Neuse River Adventure

neuserivercollageneuserivercollage2
A couple of weeks ago we decided to do a little exploring and check out the Neuse River which is about 10 mins from our house. We cross over the river practically everyday, but this is the first time we've stopped to check it out.
When we got out the truck, we heard rushing water. The river normally looks calm when we cross over it, so was shocked to see a waterfall! There were people sitting along the river bed fishing and also sitting on rocks in the acutal river fishing. There were turtles swimming about, dragonflies, little fish, the boys said they even saw a crayfish.

It's amazing what you find when you slow down and take time to explore.

Knitting Life

Happy Wednesday Peeps!

I've been bit by the knitting bug!

I think since Fall is on the horizon I've been wanting to knit more and more. I've been knitting my little heart out the past week. 2 of these WIP are already finished.

The projects above are my Happy Bright Zig Zag afghan - that will be a WIP for a while, a whale for my grandbaby Jonah, a Hello Kitty hat and a SF 49ers mohawk hat. 2 of these projects are already done!

I have a LONG list of hats to knit, more babydolls and I also want to step out of my comfort zone and try this, Tiny Owls Woodland Hoodlet in red!

If you follow me on Instagram, (I'm isaidaveale) you can see all my knitting, finished projects. Have I told you how much I LOVE instagram! I'm sure I have. I wish there was a way to post instagram posts directly to your blog. I think someone needs to develop that!
