Doll

I started this doll in the beginning of the summer and then she got pushed aside. Not a lot of knitting happened this summer. I finally picked her back up and I'm almost done!

When starting a doll, you never really know how she is going to turn out. You have a picture of what you want, but once you get started, she may take on a whole other identity. In seeing this doll almost complete I'm thinking she's going to be a tomboy. Not what I envisioned, but obviously what she wanted to be. All I have left to do is stuff and put her all together and figure out what to do for her hair. I'm hoping to have her done during our long holiday weekend.

  1. What a beautiful blog you have. I read around a little and the words you wrote about losing your son to murder touched me deeply. I am so sorry for your devastating loss. That you managed to find knitting to help you the truly dark times is a testament to it's soothing power, and your dolls are very lovely.

  2. The doll parts look terrific. I can't wait to see the finished doll. Your knitting on the sidelines in the soccer picture brings back memories. :^) And I really like that jack-o-lantern stitch marker. Cute!

  3. Adorable! I envision her with a madcap head of curls with a yellow bow that is barely hanging on.

  5. Love her! I think it's lovely that it can change its persona as you make it, and I think you are right in feeling she is a tomboy.
