Been a slow quiet day today.....making progress on Carmen's babydoll.

WIP Wednesday - Babydoll

Hi my knitting and crafty peeps!

I hope you all had a great Christmas. Ours was pretty quiet this year. Just hubby, me and our boys. Normally we have family over, but everybody else has other plans. Felt kinda weird not having a house full on Christmas.

I can't believe it's Wednesday already! My break is flying by! It will be back to our regular crazy schedule next week Tuesday. Until then, I plan on doing lots more knitting.

My current WIP is a babydoll for my grandbaby Carmen. She will be 2 in March. I searched Ravelry for all kinds of doll patterns and I found myself going back to this one. The pattern seems pretty easy. The only thing I don't like is it's knit flat and then seamed. I've become so use to using Magic Loop that it seems strange to be knitting and purling and I'm not experienced enough to convert to knitting in the round. So knitting and purling I will go!

Life Goes On

Cuteness overload!

While in Texas I finally got to see my first Grandbaby - Miss Carmen. I still can't believe I'm a Grandma, or that Manuel is a Daddy! But here is the proof. And he's such a good Daddy too!

I noticed while looking through the pictures I didn't get a lot of Andrea with Carmen. Sorry Andrea - I still love you!

Mr. I'm not anyone's Granddaddy yet - I'm too young. I think she will have him wrapped around her little finger when she gets older! He will not be able to say anything when she calls him Granddad!


And I had to include this pic of Manuel changing her diaper. I love her expression! She is looking at Manuel like, "Uh Daddy - do you know what you are doing?"

The birth of Carmen

Update

Well, no picture with this update. I just spoke with Manuel and Andrea just received her epidural. She is doing well. He has been taking pictures, and hopefully will send me some soon. I keep calling and texting for updates.

I've been thinking about the birth of all 4 of my boys today. The pain, and then the miracle of when you finally see them, touch them, count 10 fingers and 10 toes. It's a moment you never forget.

I've been thinking about Samuel, and how I wish he was here to experience this with us. Ezekiel and Elijah were excited this morning about being Uncles. I bet Samuel would have been at the hospital with Manuel, messing with him about being a Daddy. A Daddy! Manuel is going to be a Daddy - still can't believe it!

Manuel and Andrea are at the hospital. Baby Carmen will make her appearance sometime today. I hate that I can't be there, but Manuel is taking pictures and instant messaging me all day, so I can be there virtually. I can't believe Manuel is going to be a Daddy, but Samuel always said Manuel would be the first one to make me a Grandma - he was right.
