Bread, Puppy Paws, and What to Knit

I'm sitting here at the dinning table stuffed mostly on bread. Today's loaf, rosemary and olive oil. It was very tasty and with only crumbs on the cutting board, I guess everyone else agreed.

I had to post these pictures of Azul. Whenever he is sleepy, he wants co cuddle up next to Fonzy and sleep. He will get in that corner of the couch and snore away. I was just reminded of the picture of Titus and I like that when he was puppy. Awwww...he grew so fast. He wasn't a puppy for long.

Maybe all the bread making was due to not knitting anything right now. I can't decide what I want to knit. I thought maybe I wanted to knit a doll, but couldn't decide on which one. It's been chilly here this past week, so I was thinking mittens, but I searched and didn't find anything that said knit me. Another hat, cowl, maybe work on one of the two blankets I have in progress. I can't decide, but I will have something on the needles tonight. I'm going into withdrawals since I haven't knit in a few days.

Summertime

this moment

Summer ~ Summer ~ Summertime!

The boys and Fonzy are on summer break. Oh....how I wish I could be on summer break too! Do you know how hard it is to get up at the crack of dawn while everyone else is sleeping. Let me tell you...very hard! But I can say there is one good thing about them being on break. I don't have to clean or cook. They have that all taken care of!

Here's a few things I'm loving right now...

~ evenings spent on the backyard patio

~ tiki torches

~ my knitting

~ warm sunshine

~ country music - I've been on country music kick lately

~ sweet ice tea in a jar

~ Dexter - on Netflix

~this moment~

I've been away from this space for awhile. Life happens.

The past few days this space has been calling me. My camera, tucked away has been begging to come out. The little moments of life...my life...OUR life, have begged to be captured.

Who am I not to oblige.

Sometimes I look at Elijah and I see Samuel. He has little looks that remind me of Samuel and he sometimes even acts like him. I catch these glimpses of Samuel and I think about his life, our relationship and how in his last few months here on earth we were growing closer. He would call me for no reason at all, just to chit chat. That wasn't the norm, but it was slowly becoming the norm and then he was gone.

Yesterday was a year since Samuel was taken from us. A year....

When the boys frustrate me, I try to remind myself that I shouldn't sweat the small stuff. That the time I have with them is precious and so fleeting.

Elijah, my last baby is growing up so fast. But right now, he still wants to hug on me, be close to me and I try to capture those moments because I never know when it will be for the last time.

Our Exciting Saturday Night

We were suppose to be cleaning, washing clothes and getting ready for our trip to Texas on Tuesday. Instead we were in our unmade bed (sheets in the washer) on our computers.

This is our life.

Christmas Picture Outtakes

I had the bright idea to do a Christmas photoshoot with the boys. I had the image in my head of how I wanted the pictures to be. I got the old school big colored Christmas lights and was going to wrap the boys in the lights and take the cutest pictures! I had a Santa hat for Ezekiel and got the little reindeer antlers for Elijah. I couldn't help smiling thinking of how cute the pictures were going to be.

Of course taking the pictures was not what I had imagined! I don't know how photographers do it! I could not get Elijah to cooperate for anything! I tried the lights, but the boys said they were too hot and burned them. I felt the lights, they were a little warm, but not enough to burn anyone - at least not for the second or two to snap a picture. I tried a few shots with the lights, but it didn't work! The boys acted like they were being burned alive. So I got rid of the lights and just tried to get a decent picture of both of them. Here's the outtakes...

I finally got what I thought was a cute picture and had Christmas cards made. As soon as Fonzy saw them he told me not to send any to his side of the family! He hated the pic! I guess it's a man thing. I sent the cards to all my girlfriends and they loved it. I guess it's a mom thing.

I don't care what he says...they look cute! Of course when they get older they will probably hate me for this, but they will get over it! I even have it as my desktop picture at work and everyone smiles when they see it.

Too Soon

One day soon, he will no longer want to play with Ninja turtles, action figures, trucks, or blocks.

One day soon, all his jumping, bouncing and throwing balls in the house, giggling and driving us nuts will be gone.

I need to remember to cherish these times, before they are gone….too soon.

Life Continues

fathers day 025
Life doesn't stop after a death of a loved one. The sun still rises and sets....life goes on. I miss Samuel every day, think about him everyday, but I must remember that I have 3 other boys, and a husband who needs me. They understand when I'm having a rough day, and are always here to comfort me.

fathers day 087
Sometimes I just need to get out and take my mind of all the sadness I feel.

fathers day 048
It helps taking pictures. Trying to get great shots, playing photographer.

fathers day 041
Seeing Fonzy and the boys play together, the sadness starts to leave for a bit.

fathers day 038
Life continues to go on, and so will I......I have to.

Easter Morning

Before church Easter morning, I took the boys outside to take Easter shots. You couldn't tell Ezekiel a thang......he was Mr. GQ with his new glasses/shades. Elijah was Elijah. I had to coax him into acting somewhat normal. He insists on acting crazy no matter what.

Childhood

If you want to see what children can do, you must stop giving them things.
