Doll

april doll IMG_8915 (2) IMG_7811 IMG_8859 (2) IMG_8875 (2) IMG_8931 IMG_8949
I started this doll in the beginning of the summer and then she got pushed aside. Not a lot of knitting happened this summer. I finally picked her back up and I'm almost done!

When starting a doll, you never really know how she is going to turn out. You have a picture of what you want, but once you get started, she may take on a whole other identity. In seeing this doll almost complete I'm thinking she's going to be a tomboy. Not what I envisioned, but obviously what she wanted to be. All I have left to do is stuff and put her all together and figure out what to do for her hair. I'm hoping to have her done during our long holiday weekend.

Lil' Miss Foxy

IMG_8713 IMG_8830 (2) IMG_1256 (3) Lil Miss Foxy Knitting has been slow going the past few months. I have a few dolls I'm working on, but just wasn't feeling them. Tried working on an afghan I've been slowly knitting for over a year now, but wasn't feeling that either. So a little knit break I took.

Finally picked the needles back up, started and finished Lil' Miss Foxy within a week. She was a cute, easy knit and got me back knitting. Or maybe it's just because Fall is almost here. Probably both!

Lil Miss Foxy pattern can be found on Ravelry here.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

evening knitting yellowrainboots
I found these cute, bright yellow doll rain boots and thought they would be so cute on one of my knitted dolls. I pictured stripped legs, a jumper and a bright yellow rain hat! I got started on April May this past weekend. One leg done so far! I hope she turns out as cute as the picture in my head!

While working on the leg last night, I was comfy in bed while April showers fell outside. I smiled to myself thinking of all the flowers I had planted this past weekend and hope will sprout up in May.

Doll - Done!

Green doll green doll2 And...done!

In the start of this new year, I set a goal for myself. Not a resolution because Lord knows I can't seem to keep resolutions. But quietly, to myself, I said I wanted to make at least one doll a month. With this doll, I am ahead of schedule! 2 dolls finished and it's not even February! Woohoo!

I have several dolls floating around in my head and I'm excited to get started. I've had requests for dolls since posting these 2, and have several dolls needed for Christmas, (yes, I'm taking Christmas orders already) and would like to get a few dolls listed in my Etsy shop.

This truly is going to be the year of Dolls!

Another Doll Of Course

weekending weekending_2
I couldn't decide what to knit in between dolls, so started another doll. A doll seems to always win when I can't decide what to knit.

It's suppose to be nice this weekend. Going to get out and take some pictures of all the pretty leaves before they are blown away.

Day 11 - Dress Continues...

dresshearts_2
Right before changing to the blue, my cord broke from my addi click needle. Had to switch to a 40 inch cord. So annoying, but luckily I had another cord to change to. Dress knitting continues.

Day 9 - Dress Continues and Zac Brown Band Concert

zacbrownelijah
Not a lot of knitting went on today. After work, my youngest son and I went to the Zac Brown Band concert. He's our favorite country singer! We've been waiting months for this concert.

I had my knitting with me at the concert. I'm that knitter that has her knitting at all times. While waiting for the concert to start I started on the dress, but didn't get much done. Just a few rows.

The concert was awesome! meandelijah_zacbrownband meandelijah_zacbrownband3 zacbrown

Day 8 - Dress

dresshearts
The body is all done, and it's on to the dress. Since this doll is a custom order, the colors were picked by the customer. I wouldn't normally pick blue. The colors I gravitate to are orange, red, pink, brown. This will be the first doll I've made in blue.

Day 3 - The Body

write31_3 The nights are getting cooler and the days are getting shorter. I've noticed that with the changes, we are heading up to bed earlier. This weather is perfect for knitting.

The dolls are knit in pieces. Body, head, arms, legs, dress/clothes, and then hair. The toughest part for me is the seaming. I want the seams to be perfect, but I'm not quite there yet. The body starts with the neck and works down to the undies, which is the white in this picture. I should be finished with the body tonight, and on to the head.

I'm participating in the Write 31 Days - Doll Knitting. You can see all my posts here
