me sunflower sunflower garden This summer is flying by! Is it really going to be August tomorrow!

I've been meaning to blog, I have tons and tons of pictures, but it seems whenever I want to come to this space, something else comes up. That's life.

After work everyday, I take a little time with my flowers and camera. It's magical to me that I plant little seeds and with rain, sunshine and God's hand, these huge sunflowers grow. One is taller than me! I love watching them grow.

Gladiolus are also a favorite. My favorite is the melon color I'm holding.

I can't get enough of all the flowers. I've taken hundreds of pictures. And I'm sure I'll take many more.

My little corner of happiness.

July 13, 2015 - Moment of Bliss

smell the sunflowers summer bliss summer bliss 2 bliss 2 bliss 3 blissful me play time titus and me titus and i titus and me 2
I asked Ezekiel(16yr old) to take a picture of me with my sunflowers and this is what transpired!

Being encouraged by him acting as a photographer, I posed, laughed, danced and just let go! Let go of EVERYTHING, and just enjoyed the moment. Of course, I can't dance around in the backyard without Titus wanting to join in!

And Ezekiel just continued to snap away.

I hope when I am no longer on this earth, he looks back at these pictures fondly and remembers the July afternoon when he captured his Momma in this moment, playing, laughing, enjoying life. A precious moment of sweet bliss.

Bedroom Sanctuary

bedroom DSC_0520 DSC_0516 DSC_0502 It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint, new bedding and a throw rug will do to a room!

We have been in our house for 5 years now and our room was the only room that hadn't been painted. We still had the builders beige on the walls. It seems since we spend so much time in our room, we would have fixed it up. Not so....until a few weeks ago. Fonzy's parents and sister were coming for a visit and we went on a cleaning/painting/purging spree! It was 2 weeks of of madness getting ready for them! We cleaned and purged closets, junk drawers, garage. We touched up the paint through out the house, spruced up the yard. We wiped down doors, baseboards, ceiling fans. Any nook and cranny, we were in it. His parents were staying in our room, so we thought this would be the best time to paint it and our master bath.

We choose a light grey for our room. I'm all about the names of paint. Most of our house is painted in Sauteed mushroom. I love mushrooms. Stain we've used on furniture we refinished was espresso. Hello! I love coffee - espresso - same thing! The accent red we have I believe is cranberry something. I like cranberries. Reminds me of the holidays and fall!

Our room paint color - Secret Passage. That spoke to me, in color and name. Our room is our secret passage away from the world, Our hiding place. Our Sanctuary. When the world gets to be too much, we can find solace in this space.

The grey really brightened up our room. Once painted it was a whole new space. We have old furniture, and really need some new dressers, but the little changes we made make a world of difference. New bedding, a wing chair, memory foam throw rug, and the transformation was complete. I LOVE our room now. It feels so fresh, and clean. I walk in, just to breathe it all in. It truly is our sanctuary.
