Weekending

Sunday night and the weekend is slowly dwindling away....

We had a wet weekend, but so needed the rain. I sometimes like rainy weekends.

Rainy weekends are perfect for knitting. I'm still working on the Lorax, should have him done tonight, then back to the babydoll. I'm contemplating what to make next. I have a few things on my list that might make it to the needles. All in all, it was a good weekend.

Happy Wednesday Crafty Peeps!

My WIP this week is the Lorax.

My youngest son was going to see the Lorax movie this past weekend and wanted a Lorax to take with him. He told me this on Thursday night, and was going to see the Lorax on Saturday. I thought I could get him done in time, but as you can see, I did not. I should have him done by this weekend though. And then I can try to finish the never-ending babydoll. Yes! I am still working on that. I got sidetracked by the Lorax.

Weekending

Right now I'm:

Enjoying this beautiful day. The windows are open, lawnmowers are humming, and the breeze is bringing the smell of fresh cut grass.

Painting my toes pretty pastel colors. Using green as a base coat, pink and white for a cute little flower.

Knitting - the Lorax won't be done in time for the movie, but hoping to be done with him this weekend.

Monster Madness!

Happy Friday!

So, as you can see the Babydoll did not make today's FO Friday. I've been sidetracked. My youngest son is going with my sister and nephew to see the Lorax tomorrow and have green eggs and ham at IHop, so he asked that I make him a Lorax. I started it last night and will knit like crazy today to get him done for tomorrow morning. Oh the things we do for our kids :)

As you can see, we've been invaded by Monsters!

Everyday when we get  home from work/school my son runs to the mailbox to see if any new monsters have arrived. We get so excited to see a package! The knitting/crocheting community is so awesome! When I posted about my Monster Mission of Love, the response was more than I could have hoped for. I mean, look at all those happy monsters, ready to bring smiles to kids in foster care. I am delivering the monsters this weekend to the foster mom.

WIP Wednesday/Yarn Along - The Never-Ending Babydoll

It's been a few weeks since I participated in WIP Wednesday and Yarn Along. I really didn't have any progress on the babydoll to join, but I do now! I really need to become like other knitters and have more than 1 WIP(work in progress). That way I can switch when I get bored.

I'm so happy with the way the babydoll is coming out! I swear it's taking me FOREVER! I think I lost interest for a bit while working on the body. The yarn was so boring, but I got excited again when I made the dress. Now I don't want to stop! I'm working on the little ruffled panties now. I've been bringing my knitting to work, and any chance I get to take a quick break, I run out to my truck to do a few rows. I have legs, hair and face to finish. I'm hoping to have the doll all done for FO Friday this week. Send any knitting mojo you have my way!

Scenes From The Weekend

Elijah's had a basketball tournament this weekend. They played Friday night and lost. Had another game Saturday morning. Only 5 players showed  up, but with only 5 they were ahead most of the game, and lost by 1 point with a buzzer beater in the last couple seconds. The boys were so heartbroken, but played their butts off!

Even got some knitting in this weekend. I'm determined to get this babydoll done this week!

This is the little dress she will be wearing. I'm working on the ruffled panties now. Then all I have to do are her legs and put her all together! Maybe an FO Friday? Let's hope!

Knitty

Happy Friday!

It's one of those rainy mornings when you just want to stay home in pj's, sipping on coffee and kniting. Instead I'm at the office, thinking about knitting. Sigh....

I want something new on my needles! Carmen's baby doll  and I are not getting along right now! I don't know what it is, but I'm just not in the mood to knit it. Maybe it's the boring skin color yarn. I like bright, vibrant colors and this is camel color. Boring! I need to finish the arm I'm working on and maybe move to the dress. At least I would be knitting with bright colors.

Elijah has a basketball tournament this weekend. I'm hoping to get some knitting in. Might be a good time to work on the baby doll. At least I would have the action of the game to break up the monotony of knitting body parts.

Not sure what I'm going to knit next. My list keeps growing and growing! I need to stay off Ravelry and Etsy! That's probably not going to happen though!

Starting Again

I was on a roll with my 365 project, but as soon as Manuel and the grandbabies came to visit, the 365 went right out the window. I didn't do much knitting during their visit either! Having all my boys and Grandbabies together took all my time and attention.

Since they've gone, I have slowly got back on schedule. The house is back in order, and I picked up my knitting last night. I have so many projects in my queue I want to start, but I'm the type of knitter who likes to finish a project before starting another one. I still have Carmen's babydoll on my needles. I don't know why this is taking me so long! I'm ready to be finished with it. I have legs and her dress to do still. I will be so glad when I can post her on FO Friday! Maybe next week.

Even though I fell off the 365 project wagon, I'm picking up my camera and starting again. That's the great thing about living - each new day gives you a chance to start again.

Grown Son, Little Uncles, and Grandbabies

You know one of the good things of having a grown son? Having someone else cook! Manuel doesn't mind cooking and his second night here, he made us chicken and steak fajitas. They were good! He even set the table. I can't remember the last time I set the table. We normally just grab a plate and sit down. He cooked a few times while he was here and cleaned the kitchen almost every night for me.

Another good thing of having a grown son, he can drive and run errands for me! It was great when I needed something from the store and I didn't have to go. I could just send him!

I miss him.....and not just for the cooking, cleaning and errand running.....but I sure do miss that too!


This was Elijah and Ezekiels first time seeing their little neice and nephew. Uncles at 10 and 12! Carmen loved Ezekiel and Elijah. She liked playing with Elijah and he was always willing to play with her.

When Ezekiel came home the day they left, he said the house seemed empty and was too quiet. I guess he got use to the crying and screaming. Carmen can definitely scream! I gave her the nicname of Screaming Mimi!



Before the Grandbabies arrived, I wanted to have another baby. I thought 41 wasn't too old to have another, right? Wrong! I am too old for babies! I forgot how much work they are! They are little cuties, but it's good to be able to hand them over to their parents when they are crying and screaming or need diaper changing! Or when Grandma needs a nap!

Grandma! I sometimes still can't believe I'm a Grandma! I still remember Manuel as a chunky little baby. I know as parents we all say time flies, but it really and truly does!
