Tap - tap - tap - anyone there?
Uh yeah - my poor blog has been neglected! Bad blogger! I've had plenty of posts written in my head, just haven't made it to the blog. But I'm here now, so let's get all caught up shall we.
We are all doing good. Boys finished football and are now in basketball season. Fonzy is back coaching basketball at the middle school, and we are all busy, busy, busy.
Manuel and Carmen are doing ok. Lots of stuff going on in their lives right now. I'm sure he wouldn't want me to tell the world his business, so I will respect his privacy. I just continue to pray for him and hope to see him and sweet Carmen for Christmas.
Thanksgiving was good. Lot's of food and fun with family. All I have is a picture of the food, none of family. Man, I am slacking on the picture taking too! And yes, that is red kool-aid with Thanksgiving dinner. We are keeping it real!
This is our first Christmas in the house. I was so excited to get our tree up and decorated. I ended up not decorating the tree at all. Fonzy and the boys did while I cooked Thanksgiving dinner. Yes, we put the tree up on Thanksgiving day. One day earlier than we normally do. We couldn't wait! We have lights and decorations outside too. I took a few pictures, but didn't like how they turned out. I plan on trying again later.
So here we are....all caught up! That didn't take long!

Meet Maddox, my newest monster!
Maddox was made for Ezekiel. Of course, him being in middle school and all, it's just to sit on his bed. He keeps reminding me of that. I made Maddox in Carolina Panther colors to match his room.
I am having so much fun making these monsters. I have two more started with quite a few more I need to get done in time for Christmas! Maddox here took me 5 days. I think I missed a day because I needed more yarn, so let's just say he could have been done in 4 days.
This is slowly becoming a knitting blog, huh? I didn't plan on it becoming one, but knitting is my new addiction! Fonzy was just commenting the other day how I go from one hobby to the next. I say it keeps life interesting!

I knit Frances aka Louie for Elijah.
He's been carrying him around every since. Fonzy says he's too old for this, but I disagree. Let him be a kid for as long as he wants. He's only 8.
Saturday morning while Elijah was at football practice, Louie had my morning coffee with me.
When he get's older he'll probably hate me for these pictures, but they are too cute! I couldn't resist!

The past couple of days I've been home sick, stuffy nose, headache, and achy body. But even with feeling like crap, there is always something to be thankful for. I'm thankful for my rainbow color socks that are oh so soft. For Fonzy's sweatpants and my Betty Boop robe that keep the chills away. For TheraFlu that warms my insides and makes me feel better. It's the little things I'm thankful for, even when I'm feeling crappy.

They dressed up, knocked on doors, said "trick or treat" and got lots of candy.
Memories of 2 other little boys who trick or treated were swirling in my head, the sets seemed to merge together as one, making it hard to distinguish between the two. I called out one sons name to tell him to wait for me, slow down - but it wasn't the right one. The one I called is no longer here.
I thought of Manuel, now a Daddy, and wondered if he was out trick or treating with his little girl, thinking of the little boy he once was, trick or treating with his brother. Precious memories.
No matter how much we try or wish - time stands still for no one. Soon these two will be grown, no longer little enough to trick or treat, just like the two before them. I'm not ready for that. I want to hold on to these times, the here and now with a tightly clutched fist and pray for time to slow down - for childhood to last just a little bit longer.
