One of the guys

Fonzy and I went to the NC State vs. Miami game today. This was my first time going to a college game and I had fun, at least for the time we were there. We ended up leaving during half time, because Fonzy was cold. I'm sure if he had gone with one of his friends, he would of stayed for the whole game, but going to a football game with your wife is not the same as going with one of the guys. I was a last resort. Fonzy had planned on going with his brother, but he was unable to make it, he then asked my brother, but he couldn't make it either and all of Fonzy's close friends are in Texas, so all that was left was moi.
This was a shot of the field from our seats. We were on the very last bleacher at the top. I thought we had great seats, Fonzy said it was the nose bleed section.

Fonzy and I during halftime. Doesn't he looked thrilled to be at the game with me?

Yeah, not so much.

Oh well.....I tried to be one of the guys for him, guess it didn't work. I probably asked too many questions about what was going on in the game, and snapped too many pictures. Not something his brother would of done. I should of talked about how fine the cheerleaders were or something.

Fonzy: "Will you please stop taking pictures! You do not go to a football game to take pictures!"

I took this picture as we were leaving to show where we were sitting. While I was walking to get in position to take the picture, I tripped on a dip in the pavement and thought for sure I was going to fall flat on my face. Luckily I didn't because that would of not been cute, not cute at all.

Happy Day After Thanksgiving

Since I didn't post my Happy Thanksgiving on the actual day, here is a Happy After Thanksgiving day. We have so much to be thankful for...I have so much to be thankful for.

I'm thankful for...

~my life

~my family

~my health

~a roof over my head

~food to eat

~my job

~freedom

~clothes on my back

~warm bed at night

~hot coffee in the morning

~sunshine

~rain

Even though times are hard sometimes, we always have something to be thankful for. And should give thanks every day, not just on Thanksgiving.

Christmas Parade

Today was the annual Christmas parade. And it sure felt like Christmas with 20 degree weather. One of these days we are going to NYC to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade for a real parade...but until then, here's our little city parade.

Fonzy and I standing on the curb....not impressed with the parade this year.

A moment we may never see again, brotherly love.

Star Wars characters in a Christmas parade???? Uh yeah.

I had Ezekiel snap this picture of Fonzy and I. Fonzy never wants to take pictures. I told him once I'm dead and gone he would regret not taking pictures with me. He said he was diving off in the grave with me if I go first. Do you believe that? I didn't either.

Snoopy's hot dogs....supposedly the best hot dogs in town. They alright, but not all that.

Fonzy thrilled to be at the parade.

Monster truck, the highlight of the parade for the boys.

Saint Augustine's band....Fonzy's alma mater.

And Skeletor....because nothing says Christmas like Skeletor on a motorcycle.

And the big finale with Santa Clause???? We missed it, because we were here....

Getting these.....

YUMMY!

We'll catch Santa at the mall, where it's warm.

Friday Flashback

I'm not really sure how old I was in this picture, somewhere between 6-8 I'm guessing. This was a traumatic time in my life. Why you ask? What could be so traumatic at that age? Well, I will tell you. This was when my mom cut ALL MY HAIR OFF! See, I had long, beautiful curly hair. It was so thick and heavy that when she would wash it, I had a hard time lifting my head up from the weight of it. But when you have long, thick, curly hair, that someone else had to take care of, you cannot and should not be tender headed and unfortunately I was. Getting my hair combed was a form of torture! I recall my hair being pulled, and brushed so sharply I thought it was being ripped from my head, of being bopped on the head with the brush because I would not sit still, of ballies* being snapped and hitting me upside the head, and the tears. Oh the tears I would cry from the agony of getting my hair combed. Finally my mom had had enough!

Fine!” she said, “You don’t want to sit still and get your hair combed, we can fix that!”

And off she went in search of scissors. Once she found them, she put my hair in a ponytail and chopped it all off!!! Oh the horror! I couldn’t believe she had just cut all my hair off! I cried and cried and cried! Of course she wasn’t a beautician, so the cut was jacked up!

Luckily I had an aunt who was a beautician and she was able to fix my hair. If that's what you call that cut up there....fixed!
I remember being laughed at by my cousins and at school. It was a very traumatic time for me I tell ya. And it took years, LONG years for my hair to grow back.

Morning commute

It's amazing the beauty you miss as you are speeding off to work/school each day. This is what the boys and I drive by each morning. This time, we decided to walk it and enjoy the beautiful fall foliage. Sometimes you need to stop and smell the roses, or in this case, stop and see the leaves.
