When a man loves a woman....

When a man loves a woman....he will do all the laundry that has piled up for days, because he knows she doesn't feel like being bothered with it.

When a man loves a woman....he will clean the bathroom, because he knows she hates to do it.

When a man loves a woman...he will go to Walmart at 11:30pm to get maxi pads, because she has run out.

When a man loves a woman...he will know what kind of maxi pads she uses.....

Procrastinator

I am not happy with myself. There are so many things I want to change about myself, but I am such a procrastinator(that is top on my list of things I want to change) that the changes never occur. I want to be a better mother, a better wife and a better person. How do you stop being a procrastinator? How do you go about changing the person you've become in the last 36 years? There are so many things I want to learn and try, but being the procrastinator I am, I never do. I want to learn to belly dance, I want to learn to knit again, I want to dabble in photography. I want....I want.....I want....to change!

Ezekiels Quiet Humor

I wanted to share one of my new favorite stories with you . . .

On Wednesday I dried my hair differently, and Ezekiel noticed right away. He walked in the door, stopped dead and said, "Mrs. Guffey, you look like a high schooler!" Well, I was quite pleased and thanked him profusely. He then looked at me and said, "You look like you just rolled out of bed!" Well, I told him that he was losing "brownie points" quickly! He began his morning work, but apparently was still trying to get used to the change (which seemed pretty minor to me : )). He came to me and said, "Mrs. Guffey, you look like Shaggy from Scooby Doo." I told him he was digging himself in to a deep hole!

Ezekiel has really started to share his personality with me, and I am so entertained. He is always polite and smiling, and sometimes I have to listen closely to catch his quiet humor. I am really enjoying him!

Elijah and the ducks....

On April 12 Elijah came home from pre-k all excited. His class had gotten eggs from a farm and were going to hatch baby ducks! How exciting to see the miracle of life! The eggs were placed in an incubator and were automatically turned each hour. Each kid was given a calendar to mark off the days until the ducklings would hatch. Every day Elijah would take his marker and "X" out the current day. The ducks were to hatch in 29 days. Day 7, 14 and 21 were Candling Days when they would look inside the eggs to see if the embryos were growing. To the kids delight, they were. All of them anxiously awaited the arrival of their baby ducks. Today was the 28th day and guess what...we have baby ducks! Aren't they cute!

Stormy Weather

Driving in stormy weather is not my idea of fun! We need the rain, but I cannot stand driving in it. This is the type of day when I would much rather be home, in PJ's with a nice hot cup of coffee and a good book. Instead, I'm driving home from work in this.....

Almost home and it starts to clear up.....

Finally home, safe and sound.....
